Here Comes the WOBM Christmas Classic
It’s officially WOBM Christmas Classic week with the 36th annual holiday basketball tournament (presented by InVision Eyecare) to begin this weekend at the RWJBarnabas Health Arena at Toms River North.
This morning players, coaches, staff and guests will gather at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Toms River for the annual Tip Off Breakfast they have been hosting for more than two decades. The boys will play their first round games on Saturday with the girls to hit the court on Sunday and for the schedule and details visit shoresportsnetwork.com.
Selecting All-Shore teams in various sports is challenging. Selecting an All-Shore Football team is virtually impossible. With that said our Shore Sports Network has announced its football squads which is largely the work of our Managing Editor Bob Badders who lives and breathes high school football from early August until mid-December.
With Wall and Toms River North finishing 1-2 in our final top ten it’s no surprise that each team places five players on our first team. The top-ranked Crimson Knights are represented by Casey Larkin, Logan Peters, Grant Puharic, Ian Ackerman and Charlie Sasso while heading up the Mariners group is Offensive Player of the Year Jake Kazanowsky along with Najae Hallenbeck, Matt Spalletta, Zach Goodale and Zach Browne. Our All-Shore teams can be viewed at shoresportsnetwork.com
How is this for a segue?
While I completely understand the necessity of the process and the reasons behind it at the end of the day that the impeachment of President Trump will have cost millions of dollars and taken time and energy away from the problems truly facing this country.
I guess it was pretty much the same with President Clinton in 1998 and Thursday will ironically be the 21st anniversary of the House voting to impeach him for “high crimes and misdemeanors” stemming from his sexual behavior. Two months later Clinton was acquitted during a trial in the Senate and would go on to complete his second term in office.
We will likely get an instant replay in the case of President Trump. The big difference is he will be seeking re-election in less than 11 months.
