Alton Brown Sings Praises For A Jersey Hot Dog Gem
When it comes to food personalities, Alton Brown is one of those names that a lot of people recognize right away. He became famous for making cooking feel less intimidating and a lot more fun.

Instead of just showing recipes, he explains why things work in the kitchen, which makes you feel like you’re learning something while getting hungry at the same time. Brown is best known for his hit TV show Good Eats, where he mixed cooking, food facts, and a little humor to create a show that food fans still love today.
The Food Network star has fallen for one New Jersey spot that is famous for "hot dogs". According to a recent article from Tasting Table, "one of Brown's favorite restaurants in the U.S. is a longstanding roadside hot dog joint called Hank's Franks."
Where is Hank's Franks located in New Jersey?
You’ll find Hank’s Franks on Route 46 East in Lodi, up in Bergen County. This is one of those classic Jersey food stops that feels like stepping back in time. If you love a good hot dog, this is the kind of place people will actually hop in the car and drive to.
They’ve been doing their thing since 1959, and over the years Hank’s has become one of those North Jersey spots that locals know and visitors hear about pretty quickly.
As Alton Brown tells USA Today, "If I could turn on everyone in America to one hot dog, this would be it. There's no table. There's no menu. In my mind, it's the perfect hot dog."
Hank's Franks is located at 210 US-46, Lodi, NJ 07644. I have never been to Hank's but now I am curious to take a road trip and find out why Alton loves this place.
My two favorite ways t0 eat a hot dog are with spicy brown mustard and chili and onion or spicy brown mustard with sauerkraut. Both of these hot dogs are delcious and perfect for a ball game or backyard picnic this summer.
