Assemblyman McGuckin appeared on the March 11 edition of "Townsquare Tonight" on WOBM-AM 1160/1310.

Ahead of his third time on the Assembly ballot, we asked the former Toms River Council President what was the hardest part of making the switch to the statehouse.

"Democrats have controlled the Assembly for 15 years now," McGuckin said.  "Becoming part of the minority, it's somewhat frustrating."

But McGuckin says he values bipartisan discussions and actively seeks out the support of his colleagues across the aisle.  He says that's especially true when it comes to the legislation he says is his most important so far - his effort to keep changes to Affordable Housing regulations from taking their toll on Shore communities.

"Towns like Toms River, Manchester, Brick in particular, do not have a history of discrimination," McGuckin said.  "In fact, these are the communities people move to to find affordable housing, historically."
