Free Clinic in Berkeley Township to Offer Legal Advice for Sandy Victims
Sandy victims and recipients of FEMA recoupment letters are invited to receive free legal advise in Berkeley Township this Saturday. The public legal clinic will be open on Dec. 13, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, at the Berkeley Township Recreation Building (630 Route 9, Berkeley Township).
The clinic is a collaborative effort between Congressman-Elect Tom MacArthur, Berkley Township Mayor Carmen Amato, and Ocean County Long Term recovery Group. Mayor Amato said in a press release that the event is "an opportunity to answer questions, address concerns and provide additional tools to people struggling to rebuild their homes, businesses and lives more than two years after the storm."
"FEMA's enforecement actions should be targeted at those who knowingly and intentionally tried to abuse the system, not innocent people that applied for and received monies they believed they were entitled to," said Rep-Elect MacArthur in the same press release.
