One of the films that one an Academy Award Sunday was "20 Feet From Stardom."  It featured Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Mick Jagger, and Stevie Wonder talking about the backup singers they've worked with over the years.  This "Best Documentary Feature" winner is available On Demand and on Netflix and I highly recommend it!  I found the movie to be entertaining with great, foot-tapping video clips of performances spanning a wide range of music styles and eras.  Plus it's really eye-opening!  I never knew that Luther Vandross sang backup on David Bowie's "Young Americans," for example.  And you know that powerful female voice that takes over The Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter"?  Wait until you hear how Merry Clayton got that gig!
