A C-17 military transport aircraft reported seeing a green laser shine towards them around 9:15 pm while they were approximately 20 miles southeast of the base and near an altitude of 4,000 feet.

No injuries were reported from the incident and the FAA has contacted the Seaside Heights Police Department as they continue to investigate.

An FAA spokesman says in 2016 alone there were 135 laser pointing incidents in New Jersey.
