Elderly Woman Chases Intruder From Home

She went to check a flickering lamp in her parlor and returned to her bedroom to find a man lying on the floor.

Toms River Police tell WOBM the 76-year-old woman in the Silverton section chased the intruder out around 3AM Saturday, but not before he had removed $50 from her purse and a bulb from a living-room lamp.

Cops believe he forced his way in through the front door. He's described as about 25 years old, in a gray hoodie and dark pants. .
