These are the stories that I just cannot take.

I was scrolling through social media yesterday and a mutual friend sent me a link to a GoFundMe account that is up because a local puppy is dealing with a horrible illness; one that will require surgery.

I have been following the band Shoobies for a long time now, mainly because they have great music and I feel like one day I am going to be like "yo, I knew them when they were a small band,". Yesterday, the band posted a picture of their "band dog", Jagger.

Jagger is a one-year old Saint Bernard, "Everything was perfect, Jagger was the perfect dog," the emotional fundraiser description says, "All he wanted to do is play, cuddle, and maybe give you a few kisses."

On October 12th everything changed. Jagger, a dog who always loved eating, stopped eating causing alarm to the local band. Other than a small amount of chicken, Jagger refused to eat, according to the post.

The post says that Jagger loves to walk - so that is exactly what the boys did - they walked him around the neighborhood and as soon as he got home, he collapsed, "He couldn't move, [he] had to crawl to his water bowl," the post said.

After taking him to the veterinarian, Jagger was diagnosed with Addison's Disease. According to the American Kennel Club, Addison's Disease or hypoadrenocorticism, is "a disease with serious consequences for dogs, although fortunately with proper treatment, dogs diagnosed with Addison’s disease are expected to have normal lifespans."

The disease attacks adrenal glands, making it hard -- or impossible -- to function, "Addison’s disease occurs when the adrenal glands fail to produce the hormones that they are in charge of in the body," The Kennel Club says.

If you would like to help out The Shoobies with Jagger's medical bills, you can donate to them on their public GoFundMe page.

Good Luck, Jagger!!
