As you may know, the Powerball jackpot is very quickly approaching a quarter of a billion dollars. And when that happens, people start to dream big.

Whenever the jackpots start to balloon to these levels, $235 million as of this writing, a bunch of my co-workers go in on a pool.

As we saw right here in Toms River two years ago, when workers at The Ocean County Vehicle Maintenance Department won a share of a nearly $500 million jackpot, these types of arrangements can actually end up working out great for the co-workers.

But, there have also been a number of stories where these arrangements don't work out well, and end up with hurt feelings at best, and lawsuits at worst.

In the end, the way I see it is that it can't hurt to throw $10 dollars in the office pool. If we don't win, we don't win together. If we do win, well, that will be $10 really well spent!
