Monday night's Powerball drawing for a jackpot worth an unprecedented $2.4 billion was delayed due to security protocols but was finally drawn Tuesday morning with one jackpot winner.

Edison has had five winners during the 42 drawings leading to the record setting jackpot.

The numbers drawn were 10 – 33 – 41 – 47 - 56 and Powerball 10. The Power Play multiplier was 2X. One ticket sold in California matched the five white numbers and Powerball won the jackpot which had a cash value of $997.6 million.

Three tickets matching the five white balls was sold in New Jersey worth $1 million. They were sold at Atlantic Fresh Market in Edison, 7-Eleven in Hightstown and News Nook in Merchantville (Camden).

There were also 8 tickets worth $50,000 each for matching four white balls and the Powerball. They were sold in the Avenel section of Woodbridge, Bridgewater, Carteret, Edison, Lawrenceville, Medford, Parlin and Wayne.

The drawing should have happened at 10:59 p.m. Monday night. Because one of the 48 participating lotteries was still processing its sales and play data the drawing could not happen, according to a statement from the Multi-State Lottery Association posted by the California Lottery on its Twitter account.

The numbers were drawn at the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee just before 9 a.m., according to a New Jersey Lottery spokesman.

The association told the Associated Press it is against their policy to name the state causing the delay.

"Powerball has stringent security requirements to protect the integrity of the game and remains committed to holding a drawing that gives all players a fair chance to win," game officials said in their statement.

Powerball has delayed their drawing at least two other times in 2022 in compliance with their security protocols.
