So cheeseburgers are as American as apple pie, and as the story goes, it's as simple as how the iconic sandwich got its start.

According to legend, "Lionel Sternberger is generally credited with inventing the cheeseburger. As the story goes, in the 1920s, while working at his father’s sandwich shop in Pasadena, California, he decided to add a slice of cheese to a hamburger, and it caught on."

Here is an interesting statistic: "On average, Americans eat about 60 cheeseburgers per person each year, which is roughly five every month." Do you average 5 cheeseburgers a month? I don't think I do, that's a little over one every week.

Where Is The BEST Cheeseburger In New Jersey?

According to FinanceBuzz, New Jersey's best cheeseburger is in Montclair, Essex County. "Dan and Day's offers everything from grass-fed, antibiotic-free burgers to milkshakes and hot dogs. When you visit this burger destination, you can choose from a number of menu items, including a build-your-own option. The Original is exceptional with aged white cheddar cheese."  Dan and Day's is listed among the best cheeseburger joints in America. Congratulations!

My perfect cheeseburger is cheese (cheddar), lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. Nothing shocking there, but a true basic cheeseburger is my favorite, and put an order of "well-done" fries on the side, please. Now that's a tasty dish anytime!

Have you been to Dan and Day's in Montclair? If so, give us your cheeseburger review. We always love your feedback and appreciate you sharing with our readers.
