Forget breakfast at home next Saturday and come into the Applebee's in the Ocean County Mall to help support Haven/Beat the Streets of Absecon and Toms River in their fundraiser.

Pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and a drink for fifteen-dollars to help them continue  providing shelter, food and hope for the homeless.

Director of Outreach Paul Hulse (who speaks on the breakfast in the video above) hopes you'll join them in working towards helping the homeless in our area.

"I thought it would be a great idea for people to get involved, especially in the summertime," said Hulse. "We're so busy with our lives and our kids and so forth. What if you can take the money that you spend on breakfast to going out with your family and put it to something great?"

Hulse says they're also in need of volunteers for the breakfast.

"People will get a birds eye view of people that we've actually helped and people who are in need that show up as well," said Hulse.

Hulse explains that part of the bill goes towards their mission of building a shelter.

"I'd really like to see Ocean County have that place like the one in Atlantic City where people can have a place of safe haven," said Hulse.

Their "Short Stacks for a tall cause" fundraiser aims to fill your body with a good energizing breakfast and enrich your soul with love and hope for those who go without this summer.

"Applebee's takes $4.00 from each individual meal and $11.00 goes to Haven/Beat the Streets," said Hulse.

Hulse recommends you buy your tickets ahead of time and then just bring in your $15.00 receipt of purchase when you come in for the breakfast.
