We are experiencing an extremely cold winter here in the Garden State and even here at the Jersey Shore. Usually with warmer winds and temps coming off then Atlantic Ocean we are spared the extreme cold that we see further north and northwest in the state.

We have not reached above the freezing mark for over a week now and this came along with snow and ice from last weeks storm. So basically the Jersey Shore has been a block of ice for almost 10 days now.

Some overnight "windchills" have been below zero, the coldest this weekend at nearly -10* in some spots. Residents electric, pipes, and heating systems have gotten a real test during this cold winter.
