Prior to yesterday’s elections, Governor Chris Christie predicted state Republicans would make history.  That was not the case.  The GOP gained zero seats in the New Jersey State Senate during yesterday’s elections, and lost a seat in the New Jersey Assembly.

Democrats says their victory is thanks to “Christie fatigue” among voters.  But Christie points the finger at the newly drawn legislative districts which he says gave Democrats an obvious advantage.

“There wasn’t one Republican incumbent threatened last night throughout New Jersey.  We had the Democrats playing defense.  With the map they have, they won,” Christie said.

Christie said the Assembly seat they gained is a spot they really won in April.  “They redistricted a Republican in to a district with a 16 point Democratic registration advantage with the Senate President at the top of the ticket,” said Christie.
