It seems that everyone from outside New Jersey thinks the only thing we eat here in the Garden State is pork roll, and that's just not true.

And it also seems to me that putting pork roll out there is just not good for tourism. Will people think it's the only food we're good at here in New Jersey? That's what I'm afraid of. We should be known for more than just that.

Don't get me wrong. I like pork roll. I Like it. I don't love it or crave it. I like it in a breakfast sandwich. I feel guilty just saying that. Don't judge me. And don't take my "You Live at the Jersey Shore" privileges away from me.

Yes, pork roll is absolutely a New Jersey thing. And that's good. But let's stop putting it out there as our our only source of food around here. It happens time and time again, like it happened at Media Feed.

Don't get me wrong, this is not an anti pork roll discussion. It's much more a pro pizza, bagels, fresh seafood and boardwalk food conversation.  And pro diner, too. So, if you're with the Pork Roll Association, you can take a breath.

I'm just really sick of making pork roll being the the only thing people think of when they think of New Jersey food. News Flash - Pork roll is not the most delicious food in New Jersey!

We can do this! Let's let the world know we are more than just pork roll.
