Jimmy Flakes, Jr., 40, faces a first-degree count of strict liability for the drug-induced death of a Marlton 45 year-old on September 28. Investigators traced the drugs to Flakes and alleged that his total profit in the deal was $10.

Flakes was arrested Tuesday and placed in the Burlington County Jail to await a detention hearing. Prosecutors are preparing a case to bring to a grand jury.

"This is another example of the determined effort by law enforcement in Burlington County, and our partners from other counties, to investigate and prosecute those who are responsible for taking lives with the poison that they peddle," Coffina said in prepared remarks.

Evesham Township and Lawnside police collaborated on the investigation, under direction of Evesham PD Detective Christopher A. DeFrancesco.

The county's case is led by Assistant Prosecutor Jeremy M. Lackey.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
