Burlington County couple charged in murder of teen in Willingboro

A Burlington County couple has been arrested and charged for their roles in the murder of a teen earlier this month in a Willingboro shopping center parking lot, announced Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Willingboro Township Police Department Acting Public Safety Director Captain Ian Bucs on Saturday.

Willingboro Police were first to the scene on February 11, around 7:30 pm, at the Kennedy Plaza in the 400 block of John F. Kennedy Way, and in the parking lot, they found 19-year old Adam Janson of Burlington City/Burlington Township just outside of a pizza shop.

Through their investigation, police learned that Janson got into a car with 21-year old Knowah Crowderparham of Beverly City, and 19-year old Alexa Hess of Burlington City.

There was then an argument inside the vehicle and Janson tried to get out of the vehicle.

When he attempted, Crowderparham shot Janson.

Hess, who was behind the wheel, then drove away with Crowderparham to a residence nearby so they could clean the vehicle.

Following his arrest this week, Crowderparham was charged with Murder (First Degree), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Second Degree), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Second Degree), Possession of a Firearm (Second Degree), two counts of Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons (Second Degree), Endangering an Injured Victim (Third Degree), and Conspiracy (Third Degree).

Crowderparham remains in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, pending a detention hearing, which will be scheduled soon in Superior Court, and Prosecutor Coffina said that the case will then be prepared for presentation to a grand jury for possible indictment.

Hess was charged with Endangering an Injured Victim (Third Degree), Conspiracy (Third Degree), Hindering (Third Degree), Obstructing the Administration of Law (Fourth Degree) and Tampering with Physical Evidence (Fourth Degree).

She remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays Landing, pending a detention hearing in Superior Court, and like Crowderparham, her case will also be presented to a grand jury for possible indictment.

Prosecutor Coffina said that Hess and Crowderparham will be prosecuted by Burlington County Assistant Prosecutor Jamie Hutchinson.
