Bruno Mars To Headline Super Bowl Half Time Show – Report
The Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show for the game at MetLife Stadium will not have a New Jersey or New York theme as Bruno Mars has reportedly been selected to perform.
The Los Angeles Times reports the NFL will make the announcement during the upcoming week. An NFL spokesman jokingly told the newspaper that Miley Cyrus and Janet Jackson have been ruled out.
There has been speculation that the halftime performance would be have a New Jersey or New York theme with Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Southside Johnny, Jay-Z and Billy Joel among the names being discussed. Mars is from Honolulu, Hawaii and has had much pop music success with hits like "Treasure," "Locked Out Of Heaven," and "Grenade"
There's no word if Mars will perform at MetLife Stadium or at an alternative location given the potentially cold weather that could hamper a live performance.
It is likely other performers will be added to the Super Bowl festivities for the Star Spangled Banner and during the pre-and post game.
