You may remember when the Houlihan's restaurant on Route 35 in Eatontown closed suddenly about two years ago.

Then, just a few weeks ago two more New Jersey Houlihan's closed following their parent company's November 2019 bankruptcy filing.

Through it all, Ocean County's lone Houlihan's survived, with the Route 70 location in Brick being one of only a handful of New Jersey locations that have remained open.

Reports today say that the Brick Township Council just approved the transfer of the restaurant's liquor license to the chain's new owner, Landry's.

Even if you don't know the name Landry's, you definitely know some of the properties that the company owns, like Rainforest Cafe, Morton's Steakhouse, and even the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City.

Shorebeat quotes the CEO of Houlihan's former owner, HRI, as saying that the ownership transfer is expected to be "seamless" for customers, employees, and business partners.
