Brick man used the name ‘Christ’ in falsifying government records
A Brick man who falsified government records by using the names "lesus: The Christ, an irrevocable trust" and now "Without Prejudice" is arrested on Friday morning around 6:30 am.
47-year old Karl Scheufler was charged on a third degree complaint summons for filing a False Public Instrument, according to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office.
Scheufler's arrest comes from the charge of Falsifying Government Records pursuant to NJSA 2C:28-7(a).
He allegedly filed the false Uniform Commercial Code Financing Statement (Liens against victims) from his home in Brick.
Prosecutors say he holds himself as a sovereign citizen known as "lesus: the Christ, an irrevocable trust" and declares his current name to be "Without Prejudice."
His illegal activity was brought to the attention of the Prosecutor's Office by the victims who had previous dealings with Schuefler.
Brick Township Police provided assistance on the case.
Senior Assistant Prosecutor William Scharfenberg approved the charges against Scheufler.
He has been released to answer the charge in court at a future date.
The public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
