BMW Ties Suspect to Toms River Burglary, Police Say
Four weeks after a vicious kick-in burglary in a Toms River home, the trail leaads to a 31-year-old from Farmingdale.
Gerald C. Snyder is charged with burglary and theft. He was remanded to the Ocean County Jail, with bail set at $50,000, according to Toms River Police spokesman Ralph Stocco.
Snyder is accused of smashing his way into the Morris Boulevard home and taking jewelry in the middle of the day on January 7.
At the outset, the only piece of information that investigators had was a red BMW. Chief Mitchell Little credits tipsters who responded when a photo was circulated. He also acknowledges the help of Howell Township police.
Officer Patrick Jacques is now looking into similar incidents to determine if Snyder had a role in any. He can speak confidentially at 732-349-0150, extension 1297.
