It was a week ago today that the official announcement came from Minor League Baseball that there will be no 2020 baseball season due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

While we won't hear the crack of the bat at FirstEnergy Park this summer, the BlueClaws organization will still be busy keeping local families entertained.

This afternoon, the team announced that they'll be hosting a series of movie nights at the ballpark over the next few weeks, kicking off next Friday, July 17th, with Disney's Moana.

After that, the next 3 Fridays will host a variety of movies, including recent hits as well as classics.

Friday, July 17 - Moana

Friday, July 24 - Avengers: End Game

Friday, August 14 - Jaws

Friday, August 21 - Frozen 2

The 'Claws will be showing the flicks on their huge video board in center field with seating available in the stands and on the playing field itself, with social distancing guidelines throughout.

They'll also be selling $5 "snack packs" as well as the usual ballpark fare like hot dogs, burgers, and pretzels.

The BlueClaws installed the huge 1,857 square foot video board before the 2015 season. If you haven't seen it in person yet, it's truly a thing to behold and a perfect place to host outdoor movies in the middle of summer at the Jersey Shore.
