Beware of Scammers
This morning I got a phone call from someone saying he had information that my computer was going to crash soon. He didn't identify himself, which made me a bit suspicious, but I was curious how far he was going to try to take this scam so I kept listening. He used a very serious tone and made it sound "urgent" that I go to my computer and do exactly what he says. I asked him where he was calling from...what company he represented. He said, "Microsoft Security Office." I responded with, "I don't believe you. Please take me off your list." Then I hung up on him. Have you received such a phone call? Apparently it's rather common so the real experts at Microsoft have posted some good advice on their website.
