The state also has a strong running community. We have a number of charity 5k's and local races. I'll choose to walk the charity 5Ks, but it amazes me how awesome the runners are and are so passionate about it.

Why These 5 Jersey Shore Trails Are Favorites Among Runners

#1 - Cattus Island County Park - Ocean County, NJ - This park is amazing for walking and running. It it truly one of my favorite spots. Thanks to thedigestonline.com, both paths are approximately 2.5 miles long.

#2 - Ocean County Park Trail - Ocean County, NJ - The running trail is a 3-mile loop. Lots of my friends say they love running here. They say there are lots of things to check out while running.

#3 - Manasquan Reservoir Loop - Monmouth County, NJ - We've taken our bikes around the loop and absolutely love it. The path is nice for runners and walkers.

#4 - Hartshorne Woods Park - Monmouth County, NJ - This sounds beautiful, from thedigestonline.com, "With about 20 miles of paths, from wide gravel to narrow singletrack, you'll find everything from easy loops to serious climbs." I would imagine you could see some beautiful views of the Navesink River, also. That's a huge plus.

#5 - Sandy Hook Trail - Monmouth County, NJ - It is absolutely gorgeous, right along the coast great for running, walking, riding bikes, and more. It is 9.4 miles long.

In New Jersey, running isn’t just exercise, it’s a lifestyle. And it’s one that keeps people moving, exploring, and appreciating the beauty of the Garden State.
