What is brunch? if you don't know, brunch is that casual meal you grab when you’re not quite ready for breakfast, but it feels too early for lunch, usually late morning or early afternoon.

Brunch is a mix-and-match kind of thing where eggs, pancakes, or French toast can sit right next to sandwiches or salads, and nobody thinks twice about it. Brunch is less about rules and more about hanging out, taking your time, sipping coffee or juice, and enjoying good food with good company in a relaxed, no-rush kind of way.

National publication Lovefood recently did a piece, and it listed the very "best" brunch spots throughout America, including a great choice right here in New Jersey.

Where is the BEST Brunch Spot in New Jersey?

According to Lovefood, "Whether you like your first meal to be sweet or savory, topped with fried or scrambled eggs, or served on waffles or pancakes, we've got you covered with the best breakfast and brunch spots in every U.S. state."

Here in New Jersey, the choice is iconic Tops Diner in East Newark. "In a state that loves its diners, Tops Diner tops them all. This classic spot, open since 1942, serves huge portions from the early hours of the morning until very late at night. Customers can't get enough of the breakfast menu, which includes favorites like brioche French toast, buttermilk pancakes, and chicken and waffles."

For me, it depends on the day and whether I want breakfast or lunch. Most Jersey diners I visit do a great job of having both breakfast and lunch available 24/7 so in a sense it's always brunch. Tops Diner is an iconic spot, and everyone in the Garden State has to have a meal there; it's actually state law. Ok, just kidding, it's not an official law lol

LOOK: 35 Vintage Cereals That Perfectly Captured Pop Culture Moments

Movies and TV shows have always found ways to partner with cereal companies as part of their promotion strategy. Here are vintage cereals that were used to promote some of pop culture's biggest moments (and some you probably forgot about).
