Beachwood Volunteer Fire Fighter’s home sustains significant damage
The home belonging to an auxiliary member of the Beachwood Volunteer Fire Department sustained significant damage in a Tuesday morning fire on Spar Avenue.
Beachwood Fire Crews arrived at the home around 11:00 am and spotted heavy fire on the south side of the residence that was spreading into the attic and roof structure.
The fire had damaged a vehicle in the driveway and was heading towards the neighboring home.
The Pine Beach Fire Department responded automatic aid on the initial alarm.
A second alarm was transmitted that brought assistance from the Manitou Park Fire Department, Bayville Fire Department, Pinewald Fire Department and the Toms River Fire Department.
No one was injured or home at the time of the fire but one pet was rescued and one pet hasn't been accounted for by responding crews.
The fire was brought under control in approximately 40 minutes and the house sustained heavy damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Beachwood Police Department and Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office.
The Beachwood First Aid Squad and Mayor Ron Roma assisted and offered support at the scene.
