Barnegat High School students return after gas leak investigation

Barnegat High School has been deemed safe following an investigation earlier this morning of a possible gas leak. Police issued a Nixle alert shortly before 7:30 a.m. that students on buses or at Horbelt School were safe.

The building was cleared by New Jersey Natural Gas Company shortly before 8 a.m., according to School Administrators.
