55-year-old Kenneth B. Wright pleaded guilty to possessing and distributing drugs within 500 feet of a Public Housing Facility, a second degree crime, in November as part of a plea agreement, according to a news release from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Wright was in uniform and at work during the time of his arrest.

Wright must serve 33 months before becoming eligible for parole. Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Albert Garofolo also ordered Wright to pay a $2,205.00 fine during Friday's sentencing.

Wright's conviction was the result of a May 2013 heroin distribution investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit and the Atlantic City Task Force.
