Atlantic City man found with more than 500 bags of heroin in LEH
An Atlantic City man has some explaining to do after police in Little Egg Harbor found him with more than 500 bags of heroin, nine bags of crack-cocaine, marijuana and a scale during a traffic stop.
The collar came via a narcotics related investigation conducted by the Little Egg Harbor Police Department which resulted in a motor vehicle stop of a black KIA 4 door vehicle on Scotch Pine Drive.
A search of the vehicle and occupants resulted in the seizure of 513 bags of heroin, nine bags of crack cocaine, a quantity of marijuana, a scale, and the arrest of 28-year old James E. Whitfield.
Whitfield was transported to the Little Egg Harbor Police Department where he was charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute.
The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Little Egg Harbor Street Crimes Unit and Patrol Division.
