So just when we all thought that 2020 has given us all that we can handle, it turns out it's not done with us yet. Do you remember driving around and seeing all of those political bumper stickers jokingly saying "giant meteor 2020", well their wish has come true?

I was really through social media and the other day and I came across one of my favorite astrophysicists Neil Degrasse Tyson talking about an asteroid that could graze the earth the day before election day. It should be noted that NASA itself says the asteroid has a different trajectory, but everyone's favorite astrophysicist thinks otherwise.

Astroid 2018VP1 is about the size of a refrigerator and is hurtling towards the Earth at 400 km/h, according to Tyson. He goes on to say in multiple tweets that it could bounce off of the Earth's atmosphere on November 2nd, the day before election day.

Tyson goes on to say that it's not big enough to cause any harm to the earth even if it slammed right into our planet. According to the daily news, the chance that the meteor crashes into the earth is less than one percent, but even if it did it would burn up into the atmosphere and not cause any harm.

Tyson went on rhetorically ask his 14.3 million followers if there was a bigger asteroid right on the path to striking Earth was we have a plan? That answer, unfortunately, is no. However, every major country with a space program has plans but they are not fully funded.

Would you still go to the polls if you knew an asteroid was going to hit Earth? Let us know in the comment section below.
