80s Favorites A Flock of Seagulls and Gene Loves Jezebel Set Show at Asbury Lanes
Asbury Park has a great music scene because live music has been part of the town’s identity for decades. Legendary spots like The Stone Pony helped launch artists such as Bruce Springsteen, and venues like Asbury Lanes keep the tradition going today.

With its beachside vibe, lively nightlife, and crowds that love live shows, the city naturally attracts bands and music fans year-round.
Asbury Lanes started years ago as a simple bowling alley in Asbury Park, but it eventually grew into one of the Shore’s most unique hangouts. People would come to bowl, grab some food, and catch live music all in the same place.
After a big renovation a few years back, Asbury Lanes reopened with a fresh look while still keeping its retro vibe. These days, you can still bowl there, enjoy good food and drinks, and see concerts from both local bands and well-known touring acts, a truly unique place to enjoy at the Jersey Shore.
What Shows Are Coming To Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park?
There is a fantastic show coming to Asbury Lanes in April that features two great '80s bands. A Flock of Seagulls and Gene Loves Jezebel are coming to Asbury Lanes on Friday, April 3rd.
A Flock of Seagulls is a band from Liverpool, England that became really popular in the early 1980s. They were known for their catchy songs, futuristic style, and the famous big hairstyle worn by lead singer Mike Score. The group had big hits like I Ran (So Far Away) and Space Age Love Song, which were played a lot during the early days of MTV.
Along with A Flock of Seasgulls is the band Gene Loves Jezebel. Gene Loves Jezebel is an ’80s rock band started by twin brothers Jay Aston and Michael Aston from the U.K. They became popular during the alternative music boom of the 1980s with catchy songs like Desire (Come and Get It).
Over the years the brothers went their separate ways and performed with different versions of the band, but the music still has a loyal fanbase and continues to be played live today.
