"I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart."

I was watching The Godfather Part II last night and it gave me the urge to finally write this article. If you read my stuff, as you know, I love going out and exploring what the great Jersey Shore has to offer. We have beautiful beaches, awesome businesses, and phenomenal food. The Jersey Shore also has legendary landmarks that people all over the country appreciate. Just in Asbury Park alone, there is Convention Hall, The Stone Pony, and the Silverball Retro Arcade. Random but there was one time I was in Austin, Texas and one Texan couldn't believe I grew up minutes away from the Stone Pony. He was in awe! We really do live in a unique and special place. Anyway, after a tremendous dinner and fun night out, it's safe to say Jimmy's Italian Restaurant in Asbury Park will forever be a Jersey Shore landmark. (KEEP SCROLLING FOR MORE)

Jimmy's is located more inland on Asbury Ave. It was founded in 1982 by the late Jimmy Marrucca and his wife Diane. In the early 80's they opened in hopes of people not wanting to go to New York City to eat authentic Italian food. That business plan worked and almost 40 years later Jimmy's is still making an impact. They offer tremendous food and a friendly, family atmosphere where "Good Friends Come to Meet".

Now, I was on a date so I felt like a stud knowing Jimmy's offers valet parking. However, my confidence quickly disappeared after I gave the valet the keys to my 2012 Honda Civic. I blame my radio salary, I NEED A NEW CAR! Jokes aside, all in all, it was a great night!  As you make your way into Jimmy's you simply get an old-school Italian vibe. It's awesome, it's unique, and it's one of a kind. I LOVE IT. It's a place you really should check out if you never been there before. In 2021, it's sad to say but there are not many places like Jimmy's that are still standing. Of course, the food was tremendous. We ordered the stuffed artichokes, a salad, and I ate cheese ravioli. We finished the night with coffee and sambuca.

In conclusion, I think it's important to highlight some of the awards Jimmy's has received over the years. CBS New York awarded Jimmy’s as the "Best Italian Restaurant in the Metropolitan Area" and they also have been recognized for having a “Squeaky clean kitchen". In 2013, Jimmy's received the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce "Landmark Business Award". Even Paul McCartney loves Jimmy's!

They are open for indoor dining and you can call to make a reservation at 732-774-5051. Check out the menu HERE. Have fun and enjoy this Jersey Shore landmark!
