Are You Even Thinking About Christmas Yet?

Every day, I get emails about new music, events, and promotions. The one I just got surprised me a little bit - "77 Days Until Christmas!"

Normally, I'd roll my eyes and think, "come on, it's not even Halloween yet!", but 77 days doesn't seem like all that much.

Now, I'll admit, I've always been a last minute shopper, so I'm not about to run out and start my holiday shopping just yet (I'll probably do it two weeks before). But still, it's not like the middle of Summer when we still had months left.

I also admit that I've bemoaned right here in these pages how holidays are seeming to be pushed earlier and earlier every year.

Maybe I'm softening in my old age, or maybe it was the way the email was titled. If it had been "Christmas Is Coming!" I probably would have just rolled my eyes, but "77 Days Until Christmas!" gives the message that little bit of urgency.
