Frozen Meatballs Sold at Aldi in New Jersey Recalled Over Possible Metal Contamination
If you’ve recently stocked up on frozen meatballs at Aldi here in New Jersey, you’ll want to double-check your freezer.

A frozen, fully cooked, ready-to-eat meatball product sold at Aldi stores, including locations across the Garden State, is being recalled due to the potential presence of metal fragments, according to the fsis.usda.gov.
What New Jersey Shoppers Need to Know?
The recalled meatballs were produced on July 30, 2025. Each package contains approximately 64 fully cooked meatballs and carries a sell-by date of October 30, 2026.
There are a few specific details to look for on the packaging:
Timestamps printed on the back label between 17:08 and 18:20
The establishment number “EST. 4286B” inside the USDA mark of inspection
The product was shipped to Aldi supermarkets nationwide, including stores throughout New Jersey, according to fsis.usda.gov.

Why the Recall?
The recall was issued because of possible metal contamination. While there haven’t been widespread reports of injuries, consuming foreign objects like metal fragments can pose a serious health risk, so this is being taken very seriously.
As soon as Aldi was notified, the company removed the product from store shelves.
What Should You Do?
If you purchased these meatballs, do not eat them.
Instead, you should either:
Throw them away, or
Return them to any Aldi store for a full refund
