According to a new report, a nearby Jersey Shore eyesore that's been vacant for years could become an Aldi grocery store.

The Coaster online newspaper is reporting that a proposal is targeting the old Coca Cola bottling plant building at the Asbury circle for a potential new Aldi location.

The decaying building has been standing vacant for years at the busy traffic circle where Routes 35 and 66 come together in Neptune City.

The report says that the plan is still in the early stages, with demolition permits being issued but site plans beyond the demolition not yet officially filed and no specific time frame targeted as of this writing.
