Accident In Toms River Sends Cadillac Flying

An accident on Fischer Boulevard in Toms River Police sent 19-year-old Samantha Schenk's car hurtling through the air around 8 p.m Saturday night.  Toms River Traffic Officer Steven Schwartz reports Schenk, of Toms River, was driving her 2002 Cadillac southbound on Fischer Boulevard when a white minivan changed lanes forcing Schenk's 2002 Cadillac onto the center median. Schwartz says the Cadillac became airborne after striking the median, flew through a hedge and landed on its side in northbound lanes.

East Dover and Silverton Fire Companies removed Schenk from her vehicle. She was transported to Jersey Shore Hospital.  The white van continued south on Fischer Blvd.
