A Flurry Of Activity Is Transforming The Seaside Boardwalk
I took the photo above in March of 2014, only 6 months after a fire destroyed almost the entirety of the South end of the Seaside Heights and Seaside Park boardwalk.
In the years since, the boardwalk between The Beachcomber and Sawmill has been fully rebuilt and has seen a number of temporary buildings. But with a new flurry of activity going on right now, the boardwalk will look very different when you visit this summer.
According to Lavallette-Seaside Shorebeat, over half a dozen buildings are being constructed in the space that has been vacant for the last two and a half years.
The plans call for a new Three Brothers Pizza restaurant and a Silver Apple Surf Shop, in addition to restrooms, game stands, and arcade space.
You can check out the whole story, including a number of photos, by clicking here.
Between the new roller coaster going up at Casino Pier and the extensive work at the other end of the boardwalk, one of Ocean County's prime summer destinations will have a totally different feel very soon!
