An elderly Toms River woman succumbs to her injuries following a collision with another vehicle on New Hampshire Avenue. 87-year-old Irene Williams was pronounced dead at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center Wednesday after being airlifted to from the scene.

Toms River Police Corporeal Frank Palino said that according to witness accounts, Williams made a left turn onto New Hampshire Avenue from White Oak Bottom Road in her 2010 Sonata at 10 a.m. Wednesday and collided into a 2010 Nissan operated by Mcno Lagueer, 44 of Eatontown who was traveling south bound on New Hampshire Avenue. Both Lagueer and his passenger were taken to Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood.

New Hampshire Avenue was closed for two hours between White Oak Bottom and Silverton Road. Assisting in the investigation are officers Brian Doyle and Stephen Austin and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department.

Williams is the 9th motor vehicle fatality in Toms River this year.
