the disaster recovery process. As a result, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has given grants to organizations, like the Women's Center For Entrepreneurship Corporation (WCEC), to help develop and nurture small businesses and its owners.

On September 9th, WCEC will be using a $300,000 grant to host a free half-day Business Boot Camp. SBA Business Administration Specialist Sheryl Paynter says the goal of the Boot Camp is to provide the resources to help start or grow businesses in the Southern Ocean County region impacted by Superstorm Sandy.

"There's actually going to be three different tracts for this business boot camp and the tracts will be if you're looking to start, looking to expand or looking to maintain your business and there will be three class in each tract through out the morning and of course if you find another tract that might have a more interesting class for you, you're more than welcome to switch to a different class," said Paynter.

However, the Business Boot Camp could also serve as a "Field of Dreams," so to speak.

"It's also an opportunity for people who have not been in business before to look around and see what the needs might be in the community and start their own business."

Paynter said  the Business Boot Camp will also help familiarize folks with all the help and support that's available to potential or current business owners.

"Hopefully the after affect of having this seminar is that people can continue to become more aware of the Women's Business Center, the Score Small Business Development Center."

The seminar will be held on Tuesday, September 9th, 2014 from 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn located at 151 Route 72 West in Manahawkin.
