You Can Help Name The Trenton Thunder’s Adorable New Bat Dog
I'll admit right from the start that I'm not a New York Yankees fan, but I can wholeheartedly get behind a team that employs an adorable golden retriever to fetch baseball bats like the Yankees' Class-AA affiliate Trenton Thunder does.
I mean come on, how can you not love this?
This summer, the Thunder will welcome a new puppy to the distinguished line of team bat dogs, and they're looking to the fans to choose the newest prospect's name.
It all started in 2002 when "Chase" went on bat retrieving duty at Arm & Hammer Park.
The tradition continued in 2010 when Chase's son "Home Run" joined the team and continued into a third generation when Home Run's son (and Chase's grandson) "Rookie" made his debut in 2014.
The new bat dog will be the 4th generation to take the field at Arm & Hammer Park.
The name options are:
- Dug
- Dash
- Scout
- Bronx
- Ace
