Polite society tells us that bragging is frowned upon. But there are times where you just have to be proud of your accomplishments. And with all of the national accolades that Shore towns have gotten in the last few years, this is another great one to add to the trophy case.

It all started last spring, when a national poll named the Wildwoods as one of the 10 best family beaches in the country.

Then, only a few days later, Ocean City was voted the best beach in America, period.

So why stop now?

Earlier this month, our sister station 94.3 The Point shared the news that Asbury Park was just bestowed with the honor of being named The Coolest Small Town in America.

According to my colleague Laurie Cataldo, the website Budget Travel singled out Asbury, and how it, “exemplifies the cultural and ethnic diversity, creative energy, and unparalleled natural beauty that have defined America for more than two centuries”.

So, while it may be more attractive to be modest and not brag, I think that New Jersey, and our beach towns in particular, have earned the right to shout from the rooftops just how beloved we are!
