You may think this is a crazy story, I kind of do myself, but according to a recent Patch article, there is a town on the east coast that is thinking of making "topless" an option for everyone.

Yes, Nantucket Massachusetts is putting it to a vote, "topless" beaches for everyone. "A bylaw amendment allowing women to go topless alongside men on Nantucket beaches will go before Nantucket's town hall meeting."

This seems like a crazy option for anywhere lol including here at the Jersey Shore. I ask this question with a lot of sarcasm, I don't believe the popular choice would be for everyone to go topless while at the beach. Good luck to Nantucket with this, I'd be surprised if it passes, but I could be wrong I don't know their mindset there.

As far as Jersey, I could not see this becoming the norm, let us know what you think and post your comments below. By the way, "even if the bylaw amendment is approved at the town meeting, there is still a chance it won't come to fruition, as it would still need approval from the Massachusetts attorney general."

So yes it's being touted as a case of equal rights and I guess we will see if the "popular" choice is topless for all.

As for now, ladies still have to have a top on and probably some guys should too lol heck my pale Irish skin needs a cover after too long at the beach I do not want to fry out there, so yes I choose at times to wear a top, but that's just me.

LOOK: See America's 50 Best Beach Towns

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
