Multiple Ocean County law enforcement agencies are investigating the death of a woman found Friday in a wooded area of the Barnegat Branch Trail near County Line Road in Waretown, announced Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.

Ocean Township Police Department received the call about an unresponsive female and responding officers found the body.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean Township Police, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit and Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office are currently investigating the death.

“At this point in time, this is considered a suspicious death. More information will be released when it becomes available,” Prosecutor Billhimer said in a statement.

Ocean Township Police received the call Friday and responding officers found the body of a deceased female.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean Township Police, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit and Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office are currently investigating the death.
