I hope you had a safe and successful 2021 summer!

Times flies! It feels like it was yesterday we were kicking off Memorial Day Weekend broadcasting LIVE on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. The 94.3 The Point team truly appreciates having the opportunity to broadcast every Friday & Saturday from the boardwalk throughout the summer. We have been doing shows about one hundred yards away from Convention Hall for almost ten years! It would not be possible if it wasn't for the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce and the awesome team at New Jersey Natural Gas.

This Saturday was one of my last boardwalk shows of the season and I saw something that was too good not to share...

When I am not talking on the air, I am usually saying hello to the thousands of people who are walking by. As I scanned the crowd and looked further down the boardwalk, I noticed a couple that you rarely see. It was two octogenarians holding hands and strolling my way. As I watched them the whole world seem to slow down. The couple was thoughtful, caring, and they seemed to enjoy each second they shared together. It looked like everything happening around them wasn't important. It was just them two, lost in the moment, enjoying a nice walk on a gorgeous September Saturday in Asbury Park.

It's usually hectic on the boardwalk, it's very fast-paced. There were people running, walking dogs, biking, and there was this couple doing their thing. It sounds like such a simple thing but it was a beautiful moment. The couple is a perfect example of what it means to "grow old with one another".

Shout out to Bob and Mary from Bradley Beach! You guys are awesome and may your love for one another forever stay strong. It was wonderful meeting you! - Jimmy G
