"Gov. Phil Murphy's post-pandemic gift for state residents could become a challenge for residents and officials in towns bordering places like Island Beach State Park, those who live and represent the area say" ~ Pat Battle (News 4 NY)

According to a recent Pat Battle - News 4 New York report, it could be a bit of a challenge when it comes to getting into Jersey Shore state parks this 4th of July Holiday Weekend. Governor Phil Murphy made New Jersey's state parks (free) accessible, which could mean a rush this summer.

One of the most popular and busiest during the summer months is Island Beach State Park, right here in Ocean County. Even during summers when the park was charging full price there would be heavy traffic and would reach its capacity early. Some days in the past the park would be full as early as 9 am. So with "free" admission, this could make for what some are calling "heavy traffic" situations.

According to the News 4 New York report officials are looking at possible ways to add additional parking, but it looks like the old saying "the early bird gets the worm" or in this case the "beach".
