
Whiting couple suffers serious injuries in two-car collision in Stafford
A Whiting couple are being treated for serious injuries at Atlantic City Trauma Center suffered on Thursday morning in a two car collision on Route 72 and Barnacle Drive in Stafford Township.
Police say that Sandra Kearns, 70, of Barnegat was trying to turn into the entrances of the Health Village when she was struck by a car she didn't see coming causing it to head off road and into the front lawn of the Atria Assisted Living building.
Kathleen Chmielewski, 63, of Whiting and her husband Carl sustained serious injuries and remain in the ICU at ACTC.
Neither driver or passenger were restrained by a seatbelt at the time the crash occurred.
Kearns declined any medical treatment.
Due to the accident which remains under investigation.
