My first year out of college I realized something that I had never thought much about before - without school, summer is totally different.

For two decades of my life I could tell time by school.

When school ended in June, it was summer.

When it started back up in September, summer was over.

But as an adult it doesn't necessarily work that way. Especially if you don't have kids.

Outside of maybe teaching, most of us don't stop working for 12 weeks and then go back to the office after Labor Day.

It took a couple of years to get used to, but once I did get used to it I felt like I could really enjoy summer as an adult.

So, that being said, when does summer end for you? When the kids go back to school or when the calendar officially turns to fall? Vote below!
