What’s Going on at the Bayville ShopRite Plaza? Is Bayville, NJ Getting Something Good?
The Bayville ShopRite Plaza is in the Berkeley Shopping Plaza.
I believe most people, at least my friends and neighbors that live in Bayville - say, "The ShopRite Plaza." You can't see it from the front, but behind the building there's some major construction going on.

The Berkeley Shopping Plaza is located on Rt. 9 in Bayville. ShopRite, Schiano's Pizza, Atlantic City Jewelers, and more are in the shopping plaza.
The Family Dollar used to be there and an open store on the end of the plaza. It used to be a Movie Theater. Do you remember? A little history about the theater, it was called the Berkeley Cinema, owned by the Music Makers chain, which opened in the 1970's. In the mid 80's it was taken over by Loews and named Friendly Cinema. The theater closed in 1986, according to cinematreasures.com.
Many of my friends that are grown and still live in Bayville went to the theater all the time. I wonder how much movie tickets were?
So, at the old Family Dollar, the back of the building or store is being ripped down. I can see completely to the front of the store form the back. Lots of construction vehicles are behind the plaza and only on the other end of the ShopRite, there's work being done.
I would love to know what's going on there? Any ideas? Are they ripping it down to make something "big" there. A restaurant? A place for kids?
