A recent recall affects Locatelli Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese sold at Wegmans locations across multiple states, including right here in New Jersey, according to the FDA.

What New Jersey Wegmans Shoppers Should Know

Wegmans Food Markets has issued a recall for its Locatelli Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese that was weighed and labeled in-store, after learning it could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to fda.gov.

Listeria is a dangerous bacteria that can lead to severe illness, especially in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems.

When Was the Product Sold?

The recalled cheese was sold between November 14 and November 24, 2025, at Wegmans locations across several states including Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Customers should look for plastic tubs labeled Locatelli Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese with a UPC starting with 2-77580, followed by a series of numbers that vary based on weight.
