Authorities say that safety precautions were initiated when they were notified at 12:08 PM about the threat that apparently arrived Thursday morning via Snapchat.

Police, fire and emergency medical teams combed the school but turned up nothing deemed unsafe. Dismissal took place at 1:35 PM after lockdown was lifted, police said.

Letters addressing the matter were sent home with each student, Superintendent David Healy said.

Detectives are interviewing a suspect, police said, but have no reason to believe that any threat remains.
